Flow & Priming Issues

Low flow, air in the system, bubbles, or recurring prime loss can come from pump settings, suction leaks, blockages, or worn seals. I’ll troubleshoot and advise clearly.

  • Pump lid / housing seal inspection
  • Non-invasive suction-side diagnostics
  • Advice on next steps if pipework work is required

Electrical Fault Checks

If your pump is tripping, failing to start, or buzzing, it may be electrical. I’ll check common failure points and advise safely.

⚡ Common Fix

Pump Capacitor Replacement

A failed start/run capacitor is a common reason pumps stop starting — and it often doesn’t mean you need a new pump.

  • Pump hums but won’t start
  • Pump starts only after being manually spun
  • Intermittent starting / cutting out
  • Breaker trips at start-up

I can diagnose capacitor-related faults and replace the capacitor where appropriate — using the correct rating for your pump. In many cases this is a fast, cost-effective repair compared to full pump replacement.

Note: If testing shows the fault is outside the pump (supply, isolator, control box, etc.), I’ll advise when it needs a qualified electrician.

Pricing Approach

Every job is different, so I keep it simple: you’ll get a clear estimate before work begins. If diagnosis shows the issue is plumbing-related, I’ll explain what’s needed and you can decide the best way forward.
